A programme decision should be grounded in the exact trap model, configuration, target species and intended conditions. Rewild is building a clear record of what has been tested, what field users report and what remains to be established.
Documented tests
Species-specific animal-welfare test outcomes and engineering records should be read with their model and configuration details. Ask us for the relevant documents rather than relying on a blanket approval claim.
External sources
Independent guidance, including Department of Conservation information, can help programmes compare trap requirements and operator considerations. Check the currency and scope of each source.
Field learning
Existing customer experience and early evaluations are valuable, but they are not a substitute for independent K1 field-performance data. Formal case studies and field data are being developed.
Questions worth testing in your own programme
How will operators carry, set and service the trap? What training is required? How does the exact configuration perform for your target species and conditions? What evidence will satisfy your technical advisers, board and funders before a larger deployment?
